5TH WHEEL SLIDER CLEARANCE CONCERNS:
Cequent Towing Products offers a 5th wheel slider unit that allows shorter off-road, slow speed turning. The Round Tube Slider allows for 12" of travel.
When using the Round Tube Slider R50008 you will need to make sure that the king pin extension is not so long as that it will hit the tailgate of your truck when in the maneuvering position. We have found that a king pin extension greater than 13" could have a clearance problem in the maneuvering position with the tailgate of the late model. Chevy/GMC pick-up trucks using the standard mounting kit. Make certain that there is the necessary clearance for the operation of the slider before towing.

In some cases it may be necessary to use a notched tailgate, now available for 5th wheels where longer king pin extensions are used. Other positions include removing the tailgate or using a web style tailgate.
